Year 7 Parents’ Evening
Thursday 9 March - 4.30 to 7.30pm
We are holding our Year 7 Parents’ Evening between 4.30 pm and 7.30 pm on Thursday 9 March and warmly invite you to this important meeting to discuss your son’s/daughter's progress.
Students must attend in full school uniform.
To make the evening as helpful and convenient for you as possible, we are using an appointment system. We hope that this will avoid queues and allow you to use the most suitable part of the evening. Each appointment is scheduled for four minutes and it is important that this is adhered to. Teachers have also been requested to adhere to the four minute slot and at the end of that time will bring the interview to a close. We know, from experience, that this is the only way a large number of parents/guardians can be seen in what is a very limited time. We thank you for your understanding in this matter. If you think you will need longer than four minutes for your discussion, please make an appointment for another occasion by contacting the school office. A gap is needed between your appointments to allow time to move round the building.
The evening will finish at 7.30 pm, when a bell will be rung and an announcement will be made on the tannoy. Parents are also politely requested to sign out of the building on their departure. The school is required to know, for health and safety reasons, who is in the building at any time.
Some teachers who teach a large number of Year 7 pupils may not be able to offer appointments to all parents. The subject teacher will let you know if this is the case and will confirm that he/she is pleased with the progress made. However, if you feel that there are issues you wish to discuss, please let the subject teacher know that you would like an appointment. We will then arrange for information to be made available through a senior member of staff.
Your son or daughter will make the appointments for you so please ensure that they know when you will be available. If he/she is unable to make appointments for you please let us know. If you have a mobility problem which makes it difficult to move around our buildings then please contact school.
Please complete the reply slip ( download letter here ) by Friday 3 March.
