Mandela College

Named after: Nelson Mandela (1923 - 2013)
Our College is named after Nelson Mandela who, in South Africa, was able to stand up for his beliefs to achieve an equal and fair society. We encourage students to share their views in a respectful and supportive manner.

Motto: 'Impossibile videtur quod semper fiat donee'
Translation: 'It always seems impossible until it is done'
This quote from Nelson Mandela is to inspire students to never give up. The motto can be applied in school life and also in later life!

Our logo: A specially designed symbol
Our logo has been specially designed by Mrs Bradbury and is drawn in one stroke. We felt it was important for our students to have a symbol that they can interpret and create their own meaning to. Whether they see a tree, a flower, a candle, a person, it is a design that students can make personal to themselves.

Anthem: Wavin' Flag - K'Naan
Chosen for its South African feel and inspirational lyrics. This song reminds students that as they get older they will be stronger and free. The song brought students together when on College Day we were all able to wave our flags to victory!

Our College
Mandela college stand for working together and supporting each other through school life. By following Mandela College’s expectations of being respectful, embracing differences, offering support and care to all and always showing determination we hope all students can be successful and happy in school.
