Named after: Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)
Picasso was a Spanish painter and sculptor, who spent most of his life in France. He is amongst the greatest artists of the 20th Century and was the co-founder of the Cubist movement. Picasso College is home to the Languages and Art departments so Picasso was an excellent figure to choose as he unites these aspects of the College.
Motto: Concipte Crede Laeterent
Translation: Achieve Believe Enjoy
In Picasso we believe that all students should be given every opportunity to fulfil their potential and ACHIEVE their targets throughout their school experience. At the same time they should grow in confidence and BELIEVE in their abilities, both academically in lessons and through extra-curricular activities. It is also important for students to ENJOY their school life and look back on the experience fondly. As parents would you not be satisfied if your child attained their targets, grew in confidence and enjoyed school?
Anthem: Hall of Fame - The Script
This rousing song is about attaining your dreams. At this point in time students have so many options and can do anything with their lives. The song is about doing your best and getting the full recognition for your achievements. Its also a very catchy 21st Century contemporary song.
This beautiful, strong and powerful animal is sadly endangered. There are around 3,500 left in the wild, half of which live in India, and their habitat is shrinking every year. The College is proud to support conservation schemes concerning the protection of the Sumatran tigers of Indonesia, of which there are only 500 remaining. We have already sponsored a Sumatran Tiger at the South Lakes Wild Animal Park and we have made a £100 donation to the conservation schemes of the London Zoological Society.
