Start of Autumn term – Monday 7th September
Year 7 will come in to school at 8.45am and be directed to the dining room to be welcomed by progress tutors. They will then have a brief assembly with Mr Mayne before going off with their progress tutors for the remainder of the day. Normal lessons will commence on Tuesday 8th July.
Year 12 will go straight to the atrium at 8.45am. Assembly will commence at 9.30am.
Years 8-11 and 13 should arrive in school at 11.30am and go straight to College rooms for morning registration.
Lunchtime arrangements will be as normal for all students other than Year 7. Year 7 students will go into lunch 30 minutes early for this day and the remainder of the week.
School buses will be at the normal time (see timetable for September). Should your son or daughter be in Years 8-11 and need to come in at the normal school start time of 8.45am, they should report to their Pastoral Manager who will accommodate them until the other students arrive at 11.30am.
With the recent spell of hot weather it can be very tempting to play or swim in open water and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service want to ensure that as many children as possible are aware of the dangers surrounding water safety. This week is Drowning Prevention Week, run by The Royal Life Saving Society UK, which aims to ensure that everyone knows how to have fun and stay safe in, on or near water. The posters below focus on what to do if you find yourself in water and warn of the unseen dangers involved with swimming in open water such as reservoirs, quarries, canals or rivers.
The Day is an online daily news service designed for students, focusing on topical issues from around the world and provides short and extremely useful case studies and learning activities. There is an extensive archive of news stories, categorised by subject.
