Dear parents, carers and guardians,
Where have the weeks gone? We are at the end of the fourth school week and over halfway to half term!
We have had an extremely positive start to the new academic year and our young people look so smart as they walk into and around school. Thank you to all of you for supporting our drive on uniform. On all measures there has been rapid improvement across the school, when compared to the same period last year, which is obviously very pleasing.
Our Year 7s have settled in really well and now know their way around school better than me!
Our 6th Form goes from strength to strength and 127 of last year’s Year 11students returned to study with us – making our 6th Form one of the biggest school 6th forms in Lancashire.
Our open evening last night was superbly attended and the feedback from our Year 5 and Year 6 visitors (and their parents) was overwhelmingly positive. Our young people were amazing ambassadors for the school and some of the performances in the main hall – both speaking and performing from were simply amazing!
Thank you to all our visitors last night who provided some wonderful feedback about the school – it is really appreciated. It was lovely to see the hall packed to the brim with people for both talks – so many people in fact, that we had to put out extra chairs!
Thank you to all parents, carers and guardians who sent in cakes for our MacMillan Coffee morning – it was lovely to see so many young people walking into school, with cakes of various shapes and sizes, looking very proud of their efforts.
Thank you for your continued support.

The evening will start at 6.30pm and will take place in the Hall.
We hope to see you on Wednesday 9th October at 6.30pm.
(Please be aware that this evening is for parents and carers. Your child does not need to come because we will provide them with this information in school).
