In a heart-warming display of community spirit, Ormskirk Sixth Form's charity ambassadors have once again rallied students and staff across Ormskirk School and Sixth Form, to support their annual foodbank collection. This year's drive, benefiting both Ormskirk and Skelmersdale foodbanks, has seen an overwhelming outpouring of generosity, with a diverse array of goods pouring in. A staggering 430kg of food and a variety of toiletries have been collected, which will provide at least 18 families with large parcels, with more food arriving daily at the school.

The Sixth Form charity ambassadors, a dedicated group of students committed to making a positive impact in their community, spearheaded the initiative. Their efforts were met with an enthusiastic response from the Ormskirk Sixth Form community and beyond.

The collected items range from essential household goods to basic food staples and even special treats, ensuring that families in need will not only have their immediate needs met but also experience a bit of joy during the festive season.

Director of Sixth Form, Shelley Blackhurst commended the students for their dedication to community service: "Our students never fail to impress with their commitment to making a positive impact. The annual foodbank collection is a testament to their compassion and the strong sense of community at Ormskirk School and Sixth Form. We are proud to support initiatives that contribute to the well-being of those in need. It has been heart-warming to see so many students and their families’ supporting others."

This annual tradition at Ormskirk Sixth Form not only provides tangible support to the local community but also instils a sense of social responsibility among the students, fostering a culture of giving and empathy that extends beyond the school gates.
